The Team

Kimber McDermott
"The Brains"

On May 25th, 2009, Kimber had a dream. A big, big dream where all of the fandoms, whether they be Trekkies or wizards, Jedi or Daleks, could come together, dancing in unison, to beat a Guinness World Record™. Thus started Kimber's journey to spearhead a seemingly impossible campaign to epic greatness, giving her the title of "Brains" of the Triforce/Thriller Team. With this title in mind, Kimber deals with the nasty and not-so-glamorous perks of an event such as this: Working out the behind-the-scenes details with Dragon*Con and Guinness World Records™, as well as the paperwork that follows. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it. 2009 was Kimber's seventh year at Dragon*Con and she proudly serves as a member of The Debauchery League.
If you have any questions pertaining to the Thriller event's connection to Dragon*Con, security, registration, the event location, Guinness World Records™, or anything else of an official leadership-type capacity, please contact Kimber at Kimber@DragonConThriller.com.

Lauren Leasure
"The Voice"

On June 25th, 2009, Lauren had a dream. A big, big dream where all of th--- "What? Wait. Somebody already started trying to get together a group of Thriller dancers at Dragon*Con? Son of a @#$^% I'm always late!" Disappointed by finding out that she wasn't the one to start this, she Facebook stalked Kimber. Much to her surprise, Lauren was shocked to realize that they were both from the same town. After a lunch date and much geeking out, Lauren joined the team of Kimber and Lisa to complete the Triforce. With her background in theatre and website developement, Lauren took the horns as "voice" of the campaign, designing and drawing the logo, building the website, and doing other PR type duties. 2009 was Lauren's 4th year at Dragon*Con, having spent her first three years running around as the Clementine from that Reno 911! group.
If you have any questions pertaining to any and all public relations elements, technical aspects (videography, photography, etc.), website administration, or any related things, please contact Lauren at Lauren@DragonConThriller.com.

Lisa Denney
"The Legs"

Legs. The men love her. The women want to be her. A fierce siren who would dance all over your heart if given the chance. WATCH OUT! Our resident dancer, mover, and shaker is a force to be reckoned with. Lisa heads up the dance aspect of the event and will gladly help you with your roar turn, roar turn! She just went to her sixth year at D*Con and may be a familiar face as she often rolls with the Drum Circle crowd.
If you have any questions dealing with anything and everything to do with the dancing, learning the dance and what have you, please contact Lisa at Lisa@DragonConThriller.com

!!!SPECIAL THANKS!!!

The reality is that we three could not have pulled this off alone. This quite literally would not have been a Dragon*Con event if it weren't for these two: Chairman Pat Henry and the Director of Special Events, Amanda Collier. THANK YOU for giving us a home at Dragon*Con! (Special thanks also needs to be extended to Regina with Dragon*Con, too!)

There are a few individuals that stick out as being particularly and ridiculously helpful through the past couple of months. I'm not going to name names because I'm sure we will accidentally overlook someone (and not all are pictured here), but you guys know who you are. Thank you! If you took the time to help in any extracurricular way, you hold a VERY special place in our hearts. Thank you!

DANCE CAPTAINS! I know I've said it twelve times already and that it also sounds very cliche, but we SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY could not have done it without you. In the beginning, we just wanted to call you "beacons" or "helpers" because you would just be there to be a visual in the event that someone was lost. Dragon*Con started calling you "Dance Captains" and there was some discussion first as to whether or not you all should be called that, because it may imply that you have more responsibility than we originally intended. Well, let me be frank. You guys all earned that title and then some! Because this was a new event at Dragon*Con and we got started a little later than most events, space was limited. Also, more people showed up than we ever imagined. Our original teaching plan wasn't going to work 100% and all of you... ALL OF YOU really stepped up and made this event a success. You definitely earned the title "Dance Captain" and we are so happy and thanklful that you were with us!

Now, let's be honest. There would be absolutely NO thought of a record attempt without all of you. Sure, we didn't get the record, but we had a blast and I guarantee you that NOBODY will have as much fun as we did (and look as good, either). Sure, people can throw events with lots of people, but it's once in a great while where you get a good group of people together who want to be there, want to have a blast, and feel like they've known everyone else in the room their entire lives, even though they just met. You guys are incredible. THANK YOU!

I can NOT thank Ines Markeljevic for her site and instructional videos. Without her, we would have had NO idea about the dance. She is incredible, so please please please - Go to ThrillTheWorld.com and support her World Record attempts! She's after a different record than the one we were attempting and she needs as many of us as possible AND it doesn't matter where you are located. Check it out!

NOT DONE, YET! I must say thank you to my videographers and photographers. Without these guys, there would be NO video and absolutely none of these incredible photos. So, special thanks to Kevin Bingham, Brenda Smith, Jerry "JJ" Self, Michael Hottenstein, Jeffrey Rosado, and Martin A. Lessem, J.D. Because of you, we have photographic proof of this great memory that we can show loved ones for years to come! Thank you!

Last, but not least, the following people also need to be recognized: Mark C. McDermott, Esq., The Dragon*Con Staff, Brandon Peterson (The Marvel artist who drew the dragon logo for us, seen on the main page!), Dorie Sherill, Patterson Lundquist, Brooke Fox, Mike Eaves, The Drum Circle Folks, The Apocalypse Track, Heather Latham, Elissa Eubanks, Jamie Gumbrecht, and Ryon Horne.  If you aren't listed here, it was probably a mere oversight! If you have helped in any capacity, we sincerely thank you!
